Katie & Ryan: Feathers, Fun & Fabulousness

Katie and Ryan are so incredibly filled with life and laughter – every moment of planning with them was full of toasts of champagne, vibrant conversation and the best outlook ever of a wedding: “let’s get married and have a huge party!” which of course is exactly what happened!

We started out with a different color palette – there was talk of red and black – and in the end, ended up with electric blue, black and ivory.  Touches of vintage were especially brought out in Katie’s dress and the huge feathered centerpieces.  From there, the pair’s fabulous personalities were integrated in the best of ways – from trendy and touching music choices, to the groom and groomsmen’s ties (they had electric blue peacock feathers designed on them) and the rock band game during dinner (instead of clinking glasses for kisses) to loads of balloons in photographs by the Madison lakes – this couple had style, class and an amazing day.

We had a stylish photobooth with a black damask background that served up hilarious photos during the night, and a dance floor ceiling smothered in multicolored blue balls.  The groom had boots of beer passed out during dinner to honor an old German drinking game tradition and it was a huge hit.  Not to mention the hot blue shoes the bride and her ‘maid wore and 3 flavors of gelato instead of traditional cake – this wedding was a good time had by all.  Golden Chic was lucky to be part of it!

We couldn’t have done it without the talents of Hanle Productions for both photography and photobooth (the first picture below is from Hanle – more to come once I get them from Brittany!), the help for linens and centerpieces of the Elegant Touch, the amazing paper products of Centennial Press Designs, and all the gorgeous personal flowers from Muscari.  The Inn on the Park, and Sandy the on-site coordinator, was extraordinarily accommodating, and Midwest Sound had the guests partying all night long.
