Comfort Food

It’s become popular to serve snacks in the evening, either as another fun dessert or a “second supper” to help stave off the effects of an open bar.  There are a lot of fun ways to showcase a personal taste for an ethnic food or a particular style (for example, a sushi bar for an Asian themed wedding…or if you two just like sushi!), but perhaps a return to American fare might be just the sweet surprise your guests are looking for.  And why not provide authentic delicious snacks as the appetizers in the beginning of the evening.  Everyone will get in a festive mood right from the get-go, and they’re perfect treats to go with cocktails.

Whether it’s apple or cherry pie, or burgers and fries, you can get creative and provide different soups and shrimp prepared with a Cajun American twist.  Think about the comfort foods you enjoyed in your youth and bring them out for your guests; it’ll be a hit, just like it always is every summer BBQ!
