We all know we want the groom and his men lined up in something dapper and refined for the wedding, whether it’s in a well cut suit, a classic tux, or a casual khaki ensemble that fits the weather on a beach. Why not stretch the envelope a little and think about reviving the more severe cuts of a vintage look re-cut to look contemporary, or mixing patterns and textures to create depth to what is normally a very simple suit fabric? There are so many new options out there, from navy and chocolate suits and tuxes to cool linen collections that feel very summery and fresh.
Here are some of our favorite collections.

From left to right, you can find the links to each: Mismatched Suit; Stone Linen Suit, Navy Suit, Patterned Linen. Second Row: Black Linen Suit, White Tux with Black Shirt, 1920’s Tux, Grey Tux. Third Row: Jaquard Illusion Tux, Latte Tux, Chocolate and Gold Tux, Chocolate Suit.
And then there’s the details, details, details! Of course there’s the usual matching of the men’s accessories to the bridesmaid dresses, or to add the special accent color of the wedding to bring in a pop of spice. But again, why not get a little playful. Try a bolder pattern, or tone on tone texture that is a subtle statement all within itself?

Try a plaid tie for casual vintage, or a dark paisley for a formal traditional look. I personally love the pop of color in the green and purple option, and the silver pattern on the last one is definitely more contemporary.
So, don’t be afraid to convince your man to get a little creative himself for his outfit. Maybe keep him from choosing the bacon patterned suit (yes, they exist, and yes, they’re made to smell like bacon!) but just like your dress reflects your personality, his suit or tux choice can speak volumes about why he’s especially your man and what makes him tick!
This article was very useful for a paper I am writing for my thesis.
